Playing Catch-Up: Part 1

True to form, I'm showing up late to the game, so I'll summarize as best I can:

I woke up early the morning of January 22nd, strapped on my boots, threw on my leather jacket, tied my guardian angel around my backpack, said goodbye to my dog--who slept on the foot of my bed that night--and  headed to the airport with my folks and my luggage.
"The view over New Jersey was Fantastic; the solid mass of clouds formed an impenetrable landscape--seascape-- of crests and valleys akin to both the waves of the sea and the mountains of the earth. From our perch here, we watched the sun set as only birds could, just before submerging into the total blackness of the maelstrom..." That's about as good as Jersey got.

From there, we landed in Edinburgh, pictured below, to the sun rising over emerald hills. It did little to warm up this frozen Texan.

Our wanderings included most everything from the National Gallery to the Elephant House (birthplace of Harry Potter for those of your who don't know). We walked, we watched, and we ate; all three were done well.
